Magnificent agriturismo with spa and restaurant near Rome
My visit to this agriturismo was scheduled in September. It was still hot, and when I closed the gate, I found myself in a world where time seemed to have stopped. There was an air of calm serenity about the place. This was quite a surprise, given its vicinity to Rome, which can be reached by car or train. The agriturismo is surrounded by hills, oak trees and olive groves, and is only 20 km from Rome. A strategic location if you want to explore the surrounding region or spend time in the Eternal City, or go shopping in a large mall (there is one, only a 10-minute drive away).
I was welcomed in the beautiful reception area, and had to wait a little while for my guided tour of the property. To make my wait very agreeable, I was offered a delicious espresso in the bar, with a view of the garden and the swimming pool. In this bar, guests can enjoy a cappuccino, espresso or aperitif. All of the rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished, ideal for enjoying the tranquil environment.
The rooms
The agriturismo is built around a fountain, and consists of three buildings that have a total of 12 guest rooms. The rooms are decorated in distinct styles, with an eye for detail. Some of the rooms have a view of the courtyard, whereas others overlook the hills or the pool. Every room has heating and airco, flatscreen satellite tv, wifi, telephone and a minibar.
Every comfort room has a double bed and an open loft with two single beds. The superior rooms have a double bed, an open loft with two single beds, and a kitchenette. Some of the rooms have an antique bathtub in the loft. Then there is the Master suite that can accommodate up to 4 guests and consists of two levels, each with a bedroom and a bathroom (one of them with a jacuzzi).
The agriturismo has recently been renovated with great attention to detail, so everything is sparklingly new.
Restaurant, bar, swimming pool and spa.
Such a splendid borgo cannot do without a restaurant. They serve traditional dishes with a selection of local products, some of them from their own produce. The tall windows of the restaurant offer a splendid view of the surrounding countryside. The swimming pool is generously equipped with sun loungers, and there is a relax room next to the bar. The agriturismo also boasts its own spa with a sauna cabin and a Turkish bath. After an exciting day in Rome, this is an ideal place to chill out before settling down to a tasty meal in the restaurant.
In short
An elegant agriturismo with an eye and care for detail. A quiet environment only 20 km from Rome and a large shopping mall. For foodies who also fancy relaxing and want to combine that with a visit to Rome!
