Child-friendly agriturismo in Tuscany, very close to the sea

Not many agriturismos are located as near to the sea as this one. Most of them are situated more inland. But not this child-friendly agriturismo: it has a unique location. Situated only 3 km from the sea, and not far from the seaside town of Cecina, yet in a tranquil and rural setting. The grounds around the agriturismo consist of olive groves and fields of grain and sunflowers. It is wonderfully peaceful here, yet in no time you can be plunged into the bustling liveliness of the Tuscan coast.

The agriturismo is made up of three buildings, with a total of 14 apartments. One of the buildings is situated on the other side of the road. So, when you book an apartment in this building, you need to cross the (quiet) road in order to get to the other facilities of the agriturismo.

There are two swimming pools, one of them a children’s pool, a playground with a small football pitch, 8 barbecues, and several bicycles. You can use the internet in the reception and there is a shared washing machine on the premises. Every morning, a baker delivers fresh bread.

The surrounding area

Most holiday-makers who choose this agriturismo will do so because of the nearby beach. But this agriturismo has more to offer. Volterra, Pisa and Lucca are only a one-hour drive away. Other famous cities and towns, such as Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are also only a short drive away, at about 90 minutes. I can furthermore recommend a visit to the archaeological sites of the Etruscan city at Populonia ( about 50 km away). And last but not least: Bibbona (10 km), Bolgheri (15 km), Campiglia Marittima (20 km) and Suvereto (25 km) are all worth a visit. 

The apartments 

Of the fourteen apartments, there are eleven ‘bilocale’ and three ‘trilocale’ apartments. A bilocale apartment has one bedroom, and a trilocale apartment has two bedrooms. Every apartment has a good kitchen, a bathroom, and satellite tv. The ground floor apartments have their own terrace. The apartments situated on the first floor have a seating area in the shared garden. That means that all you have to do is to go downstairs to get to your seating area.
